According to a Bloomberg estimate issued in <strong>January<\/strong> <strong>2019<\/strong>,\nthe profit was expected <strong>to hit $170 million<\/strong> over the period, a number\nthat may now seem a little short of the mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More interestingly, William Hill has reported high hopes for its\ndomestic market. Despite a ban on <strong>fixed-odd betting terminals (FOBTs)<\/strong>,\nthe sportsbook\u2019s results were reinforced by higher sporting gross margin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, international operations have been somewhat lackluster,\nalthough <strong>Mr Green<\/strong>, a company acquired in 2019, successfully drove gaming\nrevenue. Yet, the company hasn\u2019t released its full financial results just yet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The full 2019 financial overview is expected on <strong>February<\/strong> <strong>26<\/strong>,\n<strong>2020<\/strong>, and in the meantime, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/features\/2018-04-12\/the-british-bookmaker-betting-big-on-american-sports-gambling\">William Hill continues to bet big on America<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"evolution-gamings-live-dealer-games-coming-to-parx-casino\">Evolution Gaming\u2019s Live Dealer Games Coming to Parx Casino <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In expanding its global footprint, <strong>Swedish live dealer game maker\nNetEnt<\/strong> is launching across <strong>Parx Casino-owned iGaming websites in New\nJersey<\/strong> and <strong>Pennsylvania<\/strong>. The Parx Casino brand is owned by <strong>Greenwood\nGaming &amp; Entertainment<\/strong> which has agreed to the deal and the company is\nnow anticipating the official launch of Evolution Gaming products. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Presently, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.evolutiongaming.com\/news\/evolution-live-first-usa-live-casino-studio-atlantic-city-new-jersey\">Evolution Gaming has a live studio in <strong>New\nJersey<\/strong><\/a>, but the company has secured a licensing approval from the <strong>Pennsylvania\nGaming Control Board (PGCB)<\/strong> to launch games in the Keystone State and to also\nintroduce a studio within the state\u2019s borders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"iowa-hits-an-all-time-sportsbook-low-in-december-2019\">Iowa Hits an All-time Sportsbook Low in December, 2019<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a bad December, 2019 for <strong>Iowa<\/strong>, with the state\u2019s\nsportsbooks picking meagre $2.9 million in total sports betting handle, or\n19.3% down compared to results from a month before in November 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the overall results were poor, <strong>online betting revenue soared up\nby 20.5%<\/strong> and reached $1.8 million, signaling that mobile sports betting is\nthe way to go when it comes to betting activities across the United States. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Retail naturally declined steadily, <strong>posting 48.9% smaller numbers or\na $1.1 million drop over the period<\/strong>. Players did, however, wager more, up\nto $25.8 million or 0.1% more compared to November, 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"vermont-senators-propose-mobile-sports-betting-again\">Vermont Senators Propose Mobile Sports Betting Again <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Vermont is joining the race for securing a mobile sports betting bill after\nsenators <strong>Dick Sears<\/strong> and <strong>Michael Sirotkin<\/strong> filed a new bill last\nweek with the state\u2019s senate. Senate Bill 213 will seek to establish a system\nfor licensing and regulating what would be a mobile betting industry in the\nstate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bill would also establish basic regulatory rules for suppliers and\noperators, as well as outline the tax sports operators would be levied with. As\nper the current draft, <strong>businesses will have to pay 10% on their gross sports\nreceipts<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That number is far lower than the rates negotiated in places like New\nHampshire where DraftKings has an exclusive partnership with the state under\nwhich it has to pay 50% of its revenue back to the local government. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"sen-addabbo-back-at-the-helm-of-ny-mobile-betting-efforts\">Sen Addabbo Back at the Helm of NY Mobile Betting Efforts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Senator<\/strong> <strong>Joseph Addabbo<\/strong> must be one of the longest-standing\nproponents of online poker, sports betting and gambling in <strong>New York<\/strong>.\nAfter years of trying to push for what he believes to be a positive development\nfor the state, the senator and chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on\nRacing, Gaming and Wagering, is back with another attempt to spearhead mobile\nbetting in the Empire State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the state\u2019s deficit catching\nup, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/chalk\/story\/_\/id\/25770943\/gov-andrew-cuomo-wants-legalize-sports-betting-new-york\"><strong>Gov. Andrew Cuomo<\/strong>\nnot entirely certain about the upsides of mobile betting<\/a>, Sen. Addabbo is adamant to se mobile betting through in the 2020\nlegislative session. Commenting on the issue, the senator had this to say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cFirst and foremost, to address these issues, I will continue to advocate for the implementation of mobile sports betting in New York State, which will curb the flow of dollars to nearby states, that could be used \u2013 now and in the future \u2013 to balance the state budget and provide needed funding support for education and create jobs.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"west-virginias-sports-handle-hits-13-8m-in-six-months\">West Virginia\u2019s Sports Handle Hits $13.8m in Six Months <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>West Virginia<\/strong> sports betting handle has generated decent results in the first\nsix months of operation, with players wagering a total of $144.5 million and\nwinning back $128.7 million. Retail betting accounted for $9.1 million of the\ntotal sports handle during the period with all participants spending as much as\n$87.8 million at retail sportsbook and earning back $76.8 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mobile betting wasn\u2019t as high as\noriginal forecasts but still posted the impressive $5 million in the first six\nmonths of the month. The state also saw a number of positive developments with\nregards to its sports betting industry, <a href=\"http:\/\/wvmetronews.com\/2019\/08\/26\/the-greenbrier-launches-fanduel-sportsbook-app\/\">adding both <strong>FanDuel<\/strong> and <strong>DraftKings<\/strong> as important\npartners<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"nevada-hits-614m-in-total-handle-for-november-2019\">Nevada Hits $614m in Total Handle for November 2019<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevada\u2019s sports betting handle did\nwell in November with casinos clocking <strong>$614.1 million off betting contests<\/strong>.\nFurthermore, operators managed to clock in $31.0 million in terms of revenue,\nor 14.3% increase year-over-year (YOY). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most popular sport was of\ncourse football followed by basketball. The sports generated a total handle of\n$384.6 million and $399.3 million respectively.
