Identical to Play\nSugarhouse, BetRivers allows players to experience a variety of products and\ngames, picking from over 60 slots, and popular table games, such as baccarat,\nroulette, and blackjack. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The launch coincided with another important event for the American\ngaming climate \u2013 the Super Bowl, with RSI president <strong>Richard Schwartz<\/strong> not\nhiding his excitement to open another sportsbook under the BetRivers.com just\non time for the event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schwartz said that the company\u2019s experience in New Jersey has enabled\nthe company to pursue an expansion in the Keystone State and there are more\nsimilar moves coming over the next months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Play SugarHouse remains the flagship brand for RSI, but new\nprospects are being explored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a-new-law-in-washington-would-protect-social-casinos-from-loss-recovery\">A New Law in Washington Would Protect Social Casinos from Loss Recovery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile in <strong>Washington<\/strong>, state lawmakers Bill Jenkin, Brian\nBlake, and Zack Hudgins have all rallied behind House Bill 2720, a proposed\nlegislation that would bar people from seeking loss recovery from social\ncasinos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the current legislation, and specifically under Washington\u2019s <strong>Recovery\nof Money Lost at Gambling Act<\/strong>, a person who incurs financial losses in an\nillegal game of gambling, the said person could seek back losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most notably, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smh.com.au\/business\/companies\/gaming-giant-s-trouble-with-big-fish-and-its-virtual-chips-20190219-p50yp8.html\">a lawsuit against <strong>Aristocrat<\/strong><\/a>, a game developer and maker of gaming\ncabinets, was filed, seeking to reclaim losses from the developer for simply\nusing their products. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a similarly-related case, the Quinault Indian Nation accused\nestablished video game developer, <strong>Valve Corporation<\/strong>, of facilitating\nunderage gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This has not been the first time that Valve had to fend off such\naccusations, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2016-06-24\/valve-faces-lawsuit-over-video-game-gambling\">becoming the center of attention back in\n2016<\/a> when a class-action lawsuit was filed against the company on the grounds\nthat its skins and loot boxes prompted children into betting, a statement that\nValve vehemently denied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the current House Bill 2720, companies should find a leeway out\nof such contentious claims that put them as responsible for people\u2019s decisions.\nThe bill could come into effect by June 10 if passed successfully and finding\nthe necessary legal backup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"colorado-welcomes-fanduel-with-a-twin-river-deal-again\">Colorado Welcomes FanDuel with a Twin River Deal \u2013 Again<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On the sports betting front, Colorado\u2019s\nTwin River Casino Holdings has <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.fanduel.com\/2020\/01\/27\/fanduel-group-and-twin-river-worldwide-holdings-inc-partner-to-bring-online-sports-betting-to-colorado\/\">struck a deal with <strong>FanDuel<\/strong><\/a>, a popular sport betting company, launching the brand\u2019s mobile\nsports app state-wide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By agreeing to this move, Colorado\nis effectively the fifth state in which FanDuel has managed to settle a firm\nfootprint and offer both online and mobile betting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Twin Rivers is really\nplaying the market, with a separate partnership signed with DraftKings, which\nis also launching its own activities in the state with the help of the Twin\nRiver Mardi Gras Casino in Black Hawk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"betrivers-launches-in-pennsylvania-another-big-one-for-pa\">BetRivers Launches in Pennsylvania, Another Big One for PA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Interest in Pennsylvania as a viable\nplace to launch online casinos has been incessant with a second brand\nannouncing a roll-out late last week. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globenewswire.com\/news-release\/2020\/01\/31\/1978396\/0\/en\/BetAmerica-Launches-Online-Casino-Platform-in-Pennsylvania.html\">BetAmerica has teamed up with <strong>Churchill Downs Incorporated\n(CDI)<\/strong><\/a> to bring around over 40 casino\ngames to its online portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The offer holds some of the most\nexciting and important games a player could have an access to. Besides, after\nlaunching its sportsbook in December, <strong>BetRivers<\/strong> is now firmly decided to\ncontinue expanding its iGaming offer as Pennsylvania is an ideal place where\nthis can happen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meantime, promotions are\nalready up and running and players can claim up to 100 free spins on slot games\nby signing up for the casino and following through with the promotions\nT&amp;C\u2019s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the latest\nexpansion, BetAmerica boss <strong>Ian Williams<\/strong> said that the recent move was\nexciting for the company and everyone was thrilled about the opportunity to\nenter Pennsylvania. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"twin-river-holdings-continues-to-expand-in-rhode-island\">Twin River Holdings Continues to Expand in Rhode Island<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>By and far, it was Twin River Holdings\u2019 week after the company announced\nyet another partnership with <strong>IGT<\/strong> for <strong>Rhode Island<\/strong>. The two\ncompanies are establishing a joint-venture in the state, which will be split\n60% to 40% in favor of IGT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the agreement, the companies will run a company that supplies\ngaming terminals to the state lottery. According to projections, estimated 6%\nof all machines will need to be replaced each year. Some 5% of these will be\npremium terminals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IGT will be bringing an experienced veteran, <strong>Jay Gendron<\/strong>, who is\ncurrently the COO at IGT, to serve as the chairman of the new Joint Venture.\nCommenting on the deal, IGT Global Services chair <strong>Robert Vincent <\/strong>had\nthis to say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>This announcement signals the start of a strong three-way partnership that includes not just the two companies, but the State of Rhode Island as well.<\/em> -Robert Vincent, IGT Gobal Services Chairman<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the companies, Rhode Island\u2019s tax payers will be the\nultimate beneficiaries of a successful business model involving the two\ncompanies. These benefits for tax payers would manifest themselves in the form\nof new and stable jobs as well as tax paid on the gross gaming revenue\ngenerated by the new joint venture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"pointsbet-reveals-169-increase-in-q2\">PointsBet Reveals 169% Increase in Q2 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PointsBet\u2019s<\/strong> business in Q2 remained strong, the company revealed, with the Australian and US businesses of the company marking growth. As of <strong>December 31, 2019, the company posted nearly $200 million turnover<\/strong> in the months leading up to the date. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Net revenue was another big achievement for the company with the <strong>results marking a 117% increase year-on-year (YOY)<\/strong>.
