Greektown Casino-Hotel To Be Renamed

According to its operator, Penn National Gaming, the Greektown Casino-Hotel in Detroit will be renamed Hollywood Casino at Greektown on May 1. It is Michigan’s largest facility and thus this kind of change was always going to generate some buzz. What is even more exciting is that the rebrand will take place in conjunction with a $30 million hotel restoration and other improvements.

The United States betting market continues to evolve and become more competitive by the day. It is therefore not too surprising that many gaming and entertainment operators are finding ways to reinvent themselves. In the case of Hollywood Casino at Greektown, all of this is part of a plan to deliver a breath of fresh air and a much-needed renovation to the famed venue.

The name change is subject to regulatory clearance, according to the Penn National Gaming notification that came last Monday. This may not be a major worry, given the operator’s great reputation in the market. There is a lot of optimism that everything will go smoothly.

The announcement has sparked a lot of buzz, and rightfully so. The new facility aims to elevate the gaming experience, allowing gamers to partake in their favorite pastimes in ways they’ve never experienced before.

Speaking on the move, John Drake, general manager of Hollywood Casino at Greektown, noted the goal is to offer their visitors the best of both worlds. In addition to maintaining the “unique, neighborhood charm that has defined Greektown” since it launched, the operator is adding several new amenities to align with other Penn National Gaming flagship brand family.

New Features on the Way

Apart from the visual upgrades, the redesigned gaming and entertainment facility will also have improved technology to complement its world-class gaming experiences. Most significantly, customers will soon be able to use mywallet, a new technology feature for the gaming floor. Visitors will be able to collect prizes, deposit money to play with, and earn significant casino points using mychoice, the casino’s rewards app.

This is a fresh approach to casino gaming that adds a modern aspect that players are likely to love. We can’t wait to see what the venue has in store for us.

To commemorate the occasion, Hollywood Casino in Greektown is hosting a red-carpet-themed exclusive VIP and community event. Thursday, May 19th, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday, May 21st, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. are the dates for these celebrations. Guests will be treated to excellent music, refreshments, and chances to win prizes on each of those evenings.
